2019 Typhoon Faxai

Typhoon Faxai Aftermath:

Countless trees were downed leaving most without electricity or means of communication
Not even trees were spared in this Typhoon. here a large tree was uprooted. The large number of trees downed like this are hampering the restoration of power to the region.
Without power residents must try to survive the late summer heat without Air conditioning. Many news outlets have reported residents needing to utilize their cars for young and elderly to stay cooled and avoid heat stroke, but damage and debris in roads make it hard to refuel.
Damage ranging from minor to complete destruction is widespread for residents.
Power poles are down across the prefecture and local power companies are saying widespread blackouts may continue for at least another two weeks.
A 7-11 was hit with winds so hard that the entire front wall of windows an entrance was utterly destroyed.
Here the metal food structure has collapsed above the gas pumps. Similar damage is seen throughout Tateyama, forcing residents to travel miles to wait for hours in order to fill their gas tanks.
This strawberry hoophouse and crops were a total loss
